Hamilton Khaki Expedition 41mm Review: My Favourite Hamilton Yet?

Introduction
The field watch is a big part of Hamilton’s identity, and rightfully so as it is a big part of Hamilton’s heritage. In this article I will not try to compare this version to the usually recommended Hamilton khaki field, as this one represents a more outdoorsy model for me then an actual field watch.
It keeps everything I like about Hamilton’s field watch design while adding a rotating compass bezel, improved water resistance, and a more rugged look. I chose the 41mm because it represents a more modern take, and for my 7.25 inch wrist the 37mm felt too small.

Design & Wearability

One thing I appreciate about this watch is that it does not feel like a piece made only for the outdoors. Yes, it has the compass bezel, 100m of water resistance, and a rugged overall look, but the white dial and brown leather strap soften the design enough to make it easy to wear casually as well.
For me, this is where the Khaki Expedition works best. It feels like a watch I could wear on a weekend hike, but also with jeans, boots, and a simple overshirt during the week. That balance between adventure and everyday wear is what makes it more interesting to me than a pure tool watch.
Technicalities

The Khaki Expedition is powered by Hamilton’s H-10 automatic movement, offering an impressive 80-hour power reserve, making it easy to leave off the wrist for a few days without needing to reset it.
Its stainless steel case measures 41mm in diameter and 11.5mm in thickness, while the sapphire crystal and 100m of water resistance make it more than capable of everyday wear. One feature that sets the Expedition apart from the rest of the Khaki collection is its rotating compass bezel. When paired with the position of the sun, it can be used for basic navigationāsomething that perfectly complements the watch’s adventurous character.
Final Thoughts

Before owning this watch, Hamilton was a brand I mostly knew from shopping windows and online reviews. I had seen the name everywhere and understood that it was highly respected, but I had never fully connected with the hype myself.
After spending time with the Khaki Expedition, I can finally understand why Hamilton has such a strong following in the watch community. What I like most is that this does not feel like a short honeymoon phase. It is a watch I seem to appreciate more and more every day, thanks to its build quality, versatility, and character.
The white dial and brown leather strap combination is what makes this version special to me. It gives the watch a warm, casual, outdoorsy look that feels perfect for weekends, hikes, and everyday wear without trying too hard. It may not be the most classic Khaki Field, but for my taste, that is exactly why I like it.
